Day by day itinerary

  • Depart Nairobi for Lake Naivasha for a boat safari and a bush walk on Crescent Island. Naivasha is a great place to see hippos, wildebeest, giraffe, snakes and many species of bird.

    Accommodation is at Sopa Lodge, a wonderfully located swahili style lodge.

  • After breakfast, you’ll depart Naivasha for the open grassland of the Masai Mara (5 hours). Rich in biodiversity and home to a wide variety of wildlife, this savannah reserve offers excellent game viewing and is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife reserves and you're unlikely to miss seeing all the Big Five!

    You’ll arrive in time for lunch at Basecamp, a small-tented camp located on the banks of the Talek River. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom, a solar-heated hot-water shower, and a private terrace overlooking the river. After lunch, you’ll head out for a game drive in the reserve, and the next day will be dedicated to a full-day game drive to explore the savannah plains and track down the Big Five!

  • Depart the Masai Mara for Nairobi, stopping for lunch along the way.
